This workshop was held & recorded Saturday 27 November, 2022.
Join me to discuss what our military ancestors can tell us through family stories, military and genealogy records, photos, and more! Then learn how the mothers, wives, sisters, aunts, widows, and children coped with their veteran's service.
This is a Zoom Meeting and questions are encouraged! I will share how military records can provide personal details about our ancestors. This may include the service member (male or female), parents, siblings, spouses, and descendants.
Then we will look at how the women in military families handled life during wartime and when the veteran returned. You may discover some patterns, beliefs, and behaviors you did not realize existed in your families.
Worksheets & Resources
Receive worksheets with additional resources and writing prompts/questions to help you start identifying personal details about your ancestors within military files.
Some of the resources provided will cover the topic of the returning veteran on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.
A replay of this program and a downloadable audio files are provided.
You are invited to take the questions and topics from the program to your family holiday gatherings. What will you discover about your military ancestors that can push your research forward?
You are also invited to journal about your experiences while with family and observe how different family members react or respond to the questions. Do the reactions or responses bring up more questions for you to explore later?
Meet Your Guide on this Journey
Hello! I'm Jennifer!
I’ve been on a conscious personal healing journey for more than a decade. My journey began while researching & writing about my family & military history. My military ancestors helped me dive deeper into my personal & ancestral trauma to heal.
By 2015 my healing journey & military work allowed me to travel in Europe & create a life both there & in Chicago. I became embedded in Dutch society, life, relationships, healthcare, politics, culture, got a deep dive into grief when I became a caregiver to someone I was in a relationship with & more, which gave me a unique perspective on our world & the layers of trauma we each carry, no matter where we live. Each experience I had in Europe gave me awareness & puzzle pieces for my healing & the healing of our ancestors & the collective. Puzzle pieces & awareness I can now share with you.
We are all connected no matter where we live, what our culture is, what our trauma has been….when one heals, we all heal.
